Problem on your website:

When you don’t have enough or the right keywords your website wont rank for much.

For instance you have a very simple home page that just says a little about you, you will have a hard time ranking.

example:

There are not any keywords here, you need to have proper content structuring to your website.

Here is an overview of how this website is doing.

SEO report:

How this needs to be structured:

Amazing home page, you will notice in the first sentence their location in text, the services they offer, great H1-H2 tags, and their website is keyword rich.

SEO report:

How to improve your keyword Count.

First you need to run a keyword overview on your website. This will check for what keywords you rank for and what keywords you are not ranking for.

You can use a SEO tool such as Ahrefs or Semrush to find these words.

You will have to pay for these tools but they are vital to finding what you need on your website.

Once you have ran the report, add some of the keywords that are missing to your website content.

How do you find keywords that are easy to rank for.

Depending on how well your website is ranking today you will need to find the easiest to rank for keywords.

A KD or keyword difficulty Ratio is the score given to a name that tells you have

With website that are ranking poorly you will need to find words with a 10-25 KD and create webpages or optimize the ones you have for them.

You can do this yourself or get a professional to go in and find what you need to be writing about.

This is one of the biggest factors that contribute to your website ranking.

Your webpages are not structured right:

Why is organic search traffic down? The structure of your webpages could be the problem.

There are several types of webpages that you have on your website, I will go over the 3 simplest.

  1. Commercial webpages: pages you sell your product or service.
  2. Informational webpages: Your blog pages and information in your niche.
  3. Navigational: your locations, menu, services (the way your customer finds a specific page on your website).

These pages are based on the search intent somebody has when they look something up.

For instance, if somebody is trying to find a specific product, you want to see a simple webpage to a product, not a huge blog.

The flip side, if you are trying to find the best product such as “best mountain climbing shoes” you will most likely get a lot of blogs that go over the top climbing shoes.

It is all about finding what keyword you need to have and the intent that you need to write the page for.

Structuring:

Commercial webpages need to be optimized with all the words around your product.

They should be simple, with call to action, or buy it now, with the link structured around your product.

You want these to be simple, have lots of semantically related keywords, and link to a blog page with more about the product.

Informational webpages are were you want to go in-depth about your products, write about topics related to your niche, and go after long tail keywords.

With these pages you can also should also dedicate a blogs to related questions people ask about your product or service.

Blogging is the best way to increase your keywords and get your website ranking.

Blog topics should go after:

  • Questions about your products
  • How your products work
  • related topics about your products

A blog page can help your website in any niche or industry.

Low domain authority score:

A low domain authority score means your website does not have a lot of people linking to it.

Backlinks are a huge factor in how you get your website ranking.

You need backlinks from other credible sources with a high domain authority score.

Best ways to get backlinks.

There are several ways to get backlinks, one will cost you time, the other will cost you money.

The free way to get backlinks: you reach out to companies, or blog websites and ask them to guest blog for them. You write them a blog with a referring link towards your website based on your industry. The issue here is that it will cost you a lot of your time

Write quality content: write useful content informational content on your website that people can link to. This is a more passive approach since you will be waiting for people to find your content and for them to find it, it needs to rank.

The way that will cost you money: You can hire somebody to get you backlinks. The problem with this is that you need to make sure they get you quality backlinks for your website. Bad backlinks can be worse than no backlinks and effect your rankings if you have to many of them.

Blog page:

Here are three things I have seen with websites that don’t rank.

  1. They don’t have a blog page on their website.
  2. If they have a blog page it is not ranking.
  3. They have a blog page, but they did not structure it right and it does not help they with keywords.

If you want to increase your keywords a blog page that is structured correctly will help you.

Blog pages will allow you to go after the keywords that your commercial pages can’t go after.

It also allows you to rank for google snippets related words in your industry.

What is the work that goes into a good blog page?

10 steps to How to a good blog page should be formatted:

Here are the basics of how a good blog should be formatted and laded out.

  1. Do keyword research on SEMrush or your domain tools find the keywords that are easy to rank for.
  2. Get started with your headers, (h1-h2-h3 tags), you can do competitor research and see what header they have and format your blog along the same lines and add more.
  3. Write the content, you will need to add your keywords and semantically related keywords.
  4. Use an app like SurferSEO to add your keywords and structure your content.
  5. Link to other content on your website: think of making a spiderweb of links on your website.
  6. Find good sources to link out to on your website, do not link to your competitors.
  7. This will tell you how many times the keyword should be used and give you insights on what your competitors are writing on.
  8. Add unique pictures and infographics, use Canva to create these and water tag your domain name at the bottom of the page (add alt text to each picture).
  9. Meta descriptions need to have your main keyword and capture the attention of somebody looking at your page.
